8,079 Bambara Groundnut Shoot 4007 Iron Fe (mg/100g) DW 24.95 NULL NULL Calculated value analyzed by using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) Each shoot sample (2.0 g) was ashed overnight in a crucible at 60 °C and 5 mL of 1:1 HCl added and left to stand in an oven overnight at 60 °C. The solution was filtered, and distilled water added to make it up to 40 mL. The samples were then analyzed for both major and trace elements using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). NULL Bambara landraces (Red, Brianbeck, Cream, Black and Mottled) were obtained from South Africa and Ghana. Noted that the data collected only from Bambara groundnut with nitrate-fed tretment (without inoculation). The value converted from 249.5 mcg/g to 24.95 mg/100g. The study was conducted in a naturally-lit glasshouse located at the Tshwane University of Technology, Pretoria, South Africa during the summer months of October to December 2015. Day and night temperatures were not controlled but average maximum and minimum temperatures were 15 and 28 °C respectively. Highlighted treatment in the experiment - Application of nitrate (without inoculation) - 5 mM KNO3-feeding. 9,260
